My name is Sarah, I am a twenty-something marketing post-graduate from the UK, somewhere near London. That’s me in the picture up there in one of Tokyo’s cat cafes loving life (my boyfriend James was not so delighted to be there).
We went to Japan in 2016 on a fairly tight budget and an even tighter schedule, but we managed to fit in Tokyo, Kyoto, Hiroshima, Miyajima, Osaka and Nara, only spending a few nights in each city. I am a bit of a fussy eater so I didn’t go in for the sushi, but I did discover a new found love for Sake.
I fell in love with the country and the culture and have been wanting to go back ever since we got home, but unfortunately life is getting in the way of that a bit for the moment. So I have settled for endless dream holiday planning and reading about Japanese culture. A while ago I decided to start learning Japanese. No mean feat, but I am slowly getting there!
On this blog I will be documenting my language learning journey and writing about my experiences of Japan. All the photos I use were taken by James. I would love to hear from you if you are learning Japanese as well!
